Beyond the Screen: Why BasKaro Demands Action from the Top

A Formidable Database of Evidence

Charting the Extent of Normalized Hatred

We are meticulously building a formidable database, not just a collection of anecdotes, but a robust repository of countless racial incident reports. Each entry, every piece of evidence – screenshots of vile slurs, videos of public harassment, accounts of workplace discrimination – paints an undeniable picture. It meticulously charts the extent and enormity of normalized hatred against, and dehumanization of, Indians, both online and in real life. This isn't just about individual pain; it's about a systemic, global threat.

Demanding Robust Public Relations Efforts

Countering Racism Through Proactive Safeguarding

The time has come to press the government to seriously increase their public relations (PR) efforts in order to counter and minimize racism against its people. This isn't merely about damage control; it's about proactive safeguarding. It’s about leveraging the considerable diplomatic and cultural soft power of one of the world’s largest democracies to champion the rights and safety of its citizens, both within its borders and across the global diaspora. Imagine strategic campaigns that challenge stereotypes, public condemnations of online hate, and international partnerships focused on anti-racism education. This is the kind of robust, visible defense that is desperately needed.

The Indian Government's Dual Role

Firstly: Protection for All Indians, Everywhere

It is the solemn role of the government to both protect every Indian on earth, and this unequivocally includes the millions of diaspora Indians as well. The bond between India and its diaspora is unbreakable, and the government’s responsibility extends to ensuring their safety and dignity abroad as much as it does for those residing within the country. This means not just issuing statements but actively engaging with international bodies, advocating for stronger hate crime legislation in other nations, and providing robust support mechanisms for victims of racism wherever they may be.

Secondly: Fostering Awareness and Preparedness

Equally vital, is the need to make all Indians acutely aware of how fragile our position can be and to be prepared in every sense for potential racially motivated aggression and hostility when navigating amongst non-Indians. This is not about instilling fear, but about fostering preparedness. It’s about equipping individuals with knowledge of their rights, strategies for de-escalation, and awareness of reporting mechanisms. This applies both online, where digital self-defense and awareness of online harassment tactics are crucial, and in real life, where understanding bystander intervention and local support systems can make a critical difference.

BasKaro is more than just a reporting tool; it is a movement rooted in a profound belief in justice and dignity.

Our data-driven advocacy will serve as the undeniable truth, the catalyst for change, and the persistent voice reminding the Indian government of its sacred duty. By turning countless individual experiences into a collective, irrefutable argument, we will ensure that "BasKaro" echoes not just through our community, but through the halls of power, demanding a safer, more respectful world for every Indian.
